lyrics

I was running through nettle fields
where grey citizens stared at me
being chased by the thought police
for my postmodern way of breathing
I was hiding with the new monastics
but they did not use any money
I needed twelve dollar bills
for the man in the machine

I was running from the concrete fields
where no one seemed to breathe
I was running from an inquisition
that was running through my own blood
I was hiding between stone and plastics
and everything was filled with poison
yet I had to fill my lungs with air
for they still were made of flesh

I was running in another circle
this planet is round you know
I was determined by scienific numbers
they have more power than the stars
I was looking for one grain of truth
in a universe made of mist
and I no didn't need another bottle
I was already poisoned enough

I was sleeping in a fake green jungle
the trees were beamed into my head
I was chased by a band of monkeys
who were supposed to be extinct
and then the light it turned to liquid darkness
and the moon it turned to blood
what was it that I could still ask for
the whole universe was fading out

I woke up in poison ivy fields
and my body was red and sick
but I knew I had a seed to plant
oh there were so much things to do
the light was so substantial it was living
our whole universe was just a ghost
but even though it's only just a shadow
it's a shadow of things to come
