Tell me what is the way to follow the Christ
His words are clear, like in the sermon he gave on the mount
And isn’t his example clear in both his life and death
Love of neighbour love of enemies
Rejection of Mammon rejection of power

This is not the way to follow the master
This is not the way to follow the Christ
Power and money, guns and ego, selling your soul while crushing the others
Where is the love, where is the wisdom, where is the truth and goodness
If you spit on the poor, and reject peace
If you spit on the truth, and lose your soul to the world

Unite yourself to God Unite yourself to Love
Reject the vain ambitions of the rulers of the market
Unite yourself to God Unite yourself to love
Reject the toxic logic of the strongest and the coolest

You can play with words, and manipulate scripture
You can call it conservative, and buy off the radio stations
But evil won’t be good, wrong won’t be right, hate won’t be love, and lies won’t be truth
If there’s no love and humility, it’s not the way of Christ
You need love of neighours, love of enemies
Rejection of mammon, rejection of power

Blessed are the bringers of peace
They shall be called the children of God
Blessed are the pure of heart
They shall see God, they are the future
